How do you classify video on iPod classic as "movies", "music videos", or "TV shows"?

All of my videos are lumped together as "movies", despite the fact that some are TV shows, and some are music videos. I did not buy any of these from Apple, is that why I'm having trouble? I have a few Simpsons episodes ripped off of DVD, and a couple music videos I've downloaded. I want each to be in its appropriate category on my iPod. Thanks!

Right click on video file -> Get Info -> Options -> Media Kind drop down menu.
