Question:

How do you clean a beanie toy??? HELP!!!

Yipes! My 1 yr old tore her diaper off in her crib and pee'd on some of her toys. One of them, of course, is one she simply cannot live without! It's made of spandex and is a beanie type toy. The contents say polystyrene foam beads. It says NOTHING about washing instructions! The only thing I can find online is spot clean only. She can't live w/o this toy! Do I take a risk and wash it anyways? Someone said put it in a pillowcase and wash it in cold water, air fluff dry. Someone else said put it in the top rack of my dishwasher! Huh? The heat would ruin it!

Any suggestions???

  1. soak it in a mixture of vinager and warm water until the smell/stain is gone then wash it with soap to get the vinager smell out

  2. throw it in the washer in a pillow case with the load of bed sheets or towels - something that is going to cushion it in the washer and as far as drying it i dont think that it would hurt it to put it in the dryer or hand it on a hanger in the bathroom over the shower rod or someplace.

I was my childs beanies all the time and never had any problems with them.

check it over really good to check the seams for little holes just in case.

if your still uneasy about washing go get a new one or a few just in case it happens again

    good luck

  3. wash it in the sink with lukewarm water and soap, then set it outside to air dry, put it in front of a fan or use the cool setting on a hair dryer.. you have to fully soak it, it's worth taking a risk. She'll never get it back if you don't wash it, but there's a chance it could turn out fine if you just soak it.

  4. throw it in a washer with cold water. drown it in detergent
