  1. never use a wet towel. use alcohol. its dries faster, & It takes off any lane oil. just DON'T get it in the finger holes

  2. bowling alleys have machines to clean them.

  3. wipe with a damp towel

  4. I'd try:

Black Magic Rejuvenator Cleaner, Black Magic Polish, Black Magic XL, Ebonite Powerhouse Hook Again Treatment Kit (used on my Hammer, Columbia 300, Ebonite bowling balls).

Brunswick Remove All Cleaner, Brunswick Factory Finish High Gloss Polish (used on my Elite, Brunswick and Morich bowling balls)

If I need immediate results, I'll use Neo Tac "Renew It" to clean the coverstock, then Neo Tac "Liquid Sandpaper" to help the ball hook after cleaning.  These and above mentioned polishes/cleaners work like a charm and saves more money than bringing the equipment to the pro shop and paying $25-30 for each rejuvenation/polishing/sanding.

The machines at the bowling centers are nothing more than extremely fine sanding/polishing machines that actually wear down the coverstock and don't really have much effect on performance bowling balls with regards to eliminating the deep down lane conditioner soaked into the ball.

I purchase my cleaning equipment from bowling.com, my local pro shop and at bowlingball.com.  Good luck!

  5. I'd definitely consider getting some ball cleaner. I clean my ball after every session of bowling just so the oil doesn't soak through too much.  Other than that, you should go to your local pro shop and see if they have an heating oven to really get deep into your ball to get all the oil out.

  6. Okay man u got the right guy for the question. I have all the black widow balls ( original, pearl, and bite) and their are several ways of cleaning them. First of all is rubbing alcohol. Or you can go to the pro shop and buy some of the coverstock cleaner. Or if you want to get the oil out completely you can give your bowling ball a bath... What you do is run hot water into the tub or sink and let the ball soak and you will see the oil to come to the top of the water. take out every 15 or 20 mins and rub ball clean and get new water..repeat for effectiveness.

  7. the alcohol works yes, and the machines in the alleys work well as well.  I
