How do you clean a dirty bottom of a hex tank?

i have a dirty bottom of my 34 gal hex tank that i set up as a reef tank and i would like some tips on cleaning it. i have 3 red legged hermit crabs, should i get something else? my other animals in the tank include a bubble tipped anemone, 2 clown fish and 1 6 lined wasse.

  1. go to a fish store and bye a tank sifon. it cleans out the gravel and water =]


  2. remove the crabs and just buy a gravel vac. cleans out all the gunk and just pours it in a bucket. only remove like a quarter to half of the water because your fish need some of the bacteria that has formed in the water.

    I am not sure if useing a gravel siphon is recomended since it would work in areas where you do not have any live rock or corals but I do know you will find an artical at the site I posted that will anwser you questions
