  1. Hi Sue,

I purchased my Microfiber/Suede sofas about a year ago. I was shocked to find out that WATER actually stains them. I had mainly large water spots ( my daughter likes to sit/lay on them with WET hair )  and a few other undetermined dirty spots. The water stains were large and I tried numerous times to remove them without success.

A few days ago I was at the 99 cent store with a friend and she picked up a bottle of "LA totally AWESOME" cleanser and asked me if I had ever tried it. I said no...( I don't like to clean as much as she does :) and that I didn't need another cleanser. She went on and on raving about it and telling me how fantastic it cleans everything..Blah, blah, blah...so much so that she insited on buying me a bottle. after I said no, don't...I HATE that so when we got to the register,  I gave her the dollar for it and she refused..I told her that the dollar was to pay for a bar of soap that she had in her cart that I wanted to buy for her  ;)

Anyway..I ended up with the AWSome cleaser and I decided to try it on my microfiber sofas. The stuff claims to clean EVERYTHING.

I wet a cloth with warm water, sprayed the awesome cleaser on it, squeezed out some of the water so it wasn't dripping and away I went.

I scrubbed the entire cushion that was soiled and had the water spots. I didn't just do each spot, I did the WHOLE cushion. I figured I would avoid creating additional water spots that way.

I repeated this process about three times, rinsing the cloth under warm water each time and adding more of the awesome cleaser to the cloth after each rinse.

After that, I rinsed the cloth and wiped the cusihon with just the clean , no cleaser, damp cloth.

After that, I used dry white paper towels to dry the cushion as best I could.

Then set my fan to work to dry ity the rest of the way.

Guess what? IT LOOKS almost LIKE NEW! :)

All for only a few pennies! :)

I still have a whole bottle of the stuff left and am planning on doing my carpet next as it states on the bottle "for use in carpet cleaning machines".

Hope this helps....and good luck! :)

  2. Here's my "best answer" from a couple of weeks ago - hope it will help you too:

Oh boy, you're gonna love this! I have micro-fiber in my den, and here are ways I've cleaned it: First time (being oh so cautious), I followed my cleaning instructions and used only the suds of dish washing liquid on a barely damp white lint free cloth. That worked OK, but was awfully slow and with 2 kids, you need faster! Since then, I've gone mostly to a cloth dampened by soapy water (not too soapy, but enough to cut the grime). And I just scrub the "tar" out of it! Recently I put my chair in the middle of the den, and sprayed the whole thing with Tough Stuff, then "scrubbed" it down with my damp cloth. For real, it looked like a new chair. My furniture is almost 7 years old. I'd love new, but even with a 5 year old grandson and a puppy almost a year old, the stuff still looks great!

So start out cautiously, but I really don't think you're going to hurt it just using plain ole soap & water! The only other suggestion I'd have is try to use as little water as possible to avoid water stains. And also you don't want wet furniture! Good Luck .
