How do you clean fabric cotton sofas and repair any slight rips?

My sofas are cream colour and are very dirty , with alot of grit in some ereas. How do i restore it to its new look. Remeber its a white/cream colour so the stains are easy to see.

Also how to i repait any small rips on the arm of the 2 seat sofa. Remeber its not the cushion so i cant repair from behind, only front.

When applying some upholstery cleaner, make sure you use an upholstery brush to apply. They look a little like nail brushes but tend to have softer bristles to prevent any damage.

It sounds like you may benefit from a slipcover.  If you do choose to go that route, look at the 2 piece covers - the 1 piece covers bunch up and slip and you are constantly re-tucking them.  1 piece goes over the back & frame while the other piece is for the seat cushions.  Then when it gets dirty you can just throw it in the wash.

A touch of carpet cleaner on the spots, rub in gently, let set and wash away.  Most carpet cleaners have upholstery instructions on them.  For the small rips you might try a blind hem stitch.
