Toughguy, about 6 months ago I added interval and distance running to my workout. To go along with the boxing workout. So the shoes are getting funky. Thanks for the answers folks!

  1. Depends on what they are made of. If they are leather you can buy

special cleaners. If they are just standard runners I throw my in the washing machine and then stuff them with newspaper and sit them

out in the sun. They dry pretty quick. If you don't want to do that

use a toothbrush and some dish soap and scrub them with that and then a quick rinse.

  2. Sounds like you've been working out pretty hard my friend.  This is what I'd do;  Remove the insoles and shoelaces and machine wash them separately.  Scub them with soapy water and rinse well.  After this, stuff them with newspapers and let them dry naturally.  There is also some specially designed shoe shampoo products available that might help you out too.  Hope this helps sir.

  3. Real runner don't wash their shoes, they level they dirty.

    Seriously, Do not wash them.

Gently scrape the dirt, or whatever is on it, off with a screwdriver, especially from the trend on the bottom. However, running shoes are made or four things:

    1. Cardboard

    2. Glue

    3. Leather

    4. Rubber

Your shoes will actually shrink some If they get soaked.  If they do get soaked like from a run in the rain stuff them with something like newspaper, or an old rag. This will help to pervent thne form shrinking while they dry-out. Place them upright so that they are standing on the toes near, not next to. Near a source of heat ( a floor heater) and let then dry out.

When you find a pair of running shoes that just work very well for you, be sure to buy a second pair of them so that when the other pair is wet you won’t miss a run.
