How do you clean slug slime?

I found slugs living in a wicker basket with toilet rolls. The carpet is stained black and theres slime and dirt everywhere. The carpet is cream aagh!

Try shampooing the carpet with a cleaner, you can hire them.  You could also get down and dirty and try and scrub it off!  The black may have come off the wicker basket, I had one once that went manky like that in the bathroom, not good in damp conditions.
