  1. Our maids come by every two weeks.  I just tidy up the night before so they can clean everywhere.  They change the bedsheets, the shower curtain, clean the stove, load the diswasher, dust and vacuum our entire home.  Just do that.

  2. Once a week and its like pulling teeth but I remember how unmanageable it gets if I do nothing so it keeps me motivated.  I try not to do 2 things I hate in one day.  Laundry and dishes.

  3. I have the perfect site for you and I made it myself, so do me a favour and click on the ads for me, because it's my full time job and that's how I get paid.  Anyways enough about me, have a look I'm sure it will help!! http://quickcleaningb4work.blogspot.com/

  4. I make sure every room gets cleaned once a week.  Every four weeks each room gets a more deep down clean, dusting walls, vac. curtains etc.  I do not do all of this in one day, I break it up into manageable pieces.  Kitchen and bathrooms get a thorough clean every week.  Laundry is done when I have sufficient of each type to fill the washer (7kg) and ironing as soon as practical after that laundry is dry.

  5. if your house if like overly messy then i suggest maybe 1 to 2 times a week if your house if normal like basically clean then just oncee a week maybe

  6. I clean my house one section at a time.  I have a schedule I have developed that works very well, such as dishes and floors daily, bathrooms, kitchens, hallways and floors  weekly, and laundry on an as needed basis.  Basically, we do the basics daily, wash the dishes, a load of laundry and sweep and vacuum daily.  Then once or twice weekly, we will mop the floors.  The bathrooms and kitchen get a once a week hose down, completely cleaned from top to bottom, along with the hallways.  Once a month we tackle a large job, straightening up the basement, organizing the tools, cleaning off the porch and go at it for 2-4 hours.  Once a week, I tackle a closet, a section or corner of a room for 20-30 minutes.  We can do the dishes, wipe the counters and stove and sweep and vacuum the kitchen, laundry room, butlers pantry dining room and living room in about 20 minutes from start to finish.  So thats what keeps it all running daily.  On the weekends, we will spend about 2 hours, SLOWLY, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen, hallways and doing laundry, cleaning out the fridge and a total sweep, vacuum and mop down of all floors, stripping beds and so on.  Goes really fast actually, cause we will do this, watch some cartoons, a show, or throw in a load of laundry, mop a floor, read a magazine, read the paper, hang some laundry, and so on.  I have a 2800 sf home, with a pool (I skim it and vacuum it daily in about 5-10 minutes or keep the cover on).  Thats the routine, but getting here was a process.  After my last move and combining 3 homes into one, I was BURIED in clutter and boxes of stuff I either had too many of, didn't want, didn't suit the house, or plain was another project I didn't have time or energy for.  I sold extras online at Ebay, I took a booth at a local shop and sell my leftovers, projects I really can't get to, or pass stuff along I can't resist, but ends up following me home.  All while rehabbing and redoing my 1930 craftsman 2 story brick home with a full walk out basement.  I took it in small bites, one corner of a room at a time and within 6 months, had things I loved that I could actually see, had my laundry room, kitchen, baths, bedrooms, office, craft room and basement organized.  Now I spend mere minutes running through the rooms daily, cleaning, picking up as I go, and then once a week having a go at it, and once a month, tackling something more extensive.  I have every organizing book they have printed, feng sheu and clutter buster book made.  The thing is, figure out your lifestyle, figure your time, and just do it in bits and pieces, but DO IT!  At the beginning, I would just grab a box and pull stuff I really DIDN'T want, the visual clutter of it made me CRAZY, so I couldn't see past it.  Once I did that a few times, I started really getting JAZZED.  I would set the timer for 10-20 minutes and when it went off, I was done.  This helped clear a ton of junk from my sight and I sold it, gave it away, took it to local charities and some, just plain threw out!  My schedule is daily, weekly, monthly and even seasonally.  Hope this helps you.  Good luck with your cleaning!

  8. send my kids to do the dirty work =/

  9. I pick a day of the week for each room.  Example:  Monday is laundry room.  Wash the clothes and clean the floors in there etc.  Tuesday is kitchen.  Do everything in the kitchen. Wednesday is bathrooms, etc.  Be sure to factor in time off or you will never get going.  Say, keep Sunday and Wednesday free.  Then it is not so overwhelming.

  10. I try to do as much housework possible everyday .

  11. I vacuum the kitchen/family room/play room (it's basically one big open area) every single day.  I have two children (one baby -- eats anything he finds on the floor).

I vacuum the rest of the house once a week.

I clean the bathrooms once a week (in between I wipe them down with baby wipes to keep them looking clean).

I wash the floors once a week with a mop.

I dust once a week (sometimes every other week).

And I clean the fridge out once a week -- either before or after I grocery shop.

I find that if you try to be tidy all the time, the cleaning goes so much easier.

    And Monday is laundry day.
