How do you clear the codes for the brake pads on a 2004 bmw 745li???

you have to replace the sensor or the cluster will not reset the CBS data (counter) once you replace the sensor, with the key fob in, hit the start button till all the lights are on the dash, wait for the cc messages to stop. puch and hold the left reset button until the cbs menu comes up in the left side of the cluster. use the left rest button to choose which item to reset. once you highlite the desired item, push and hold the left (same) reset button on cluster and a new menu will come up on the right, select reset, then push and hold again. it should reset and move down the list on the left. select back to move back to the previous menu. voila.

As memory serves (only done maybe 3 brake jobs  on 745's) you have to replace the pad sensors when doing the brake hob.  You can cut the wires and crimp them together.
