How do you combat your road rage?

I get terrible road rage! I'm 8 months pregnant and I don't think it's a good idea for a mother to be driving like a madwoman with a baby in the car. What techniques do you use to keep your cool?

  1. I tend to curse a lot to keep from driving aggressively.

But one thing I've found that completely takes my mind off how badly other people drive is listening to comic standup routines in my car.

You can download a lot of them off the internet.

Just listening to those guys curse and pull jokes keeps my mind occupied and leaves me just happily rolling with traffic.

    Especially good for Road Rage:

Louis Black and Ron White ;)

    Good luck!

  2. I listen to my favorite channels on XM and I try not to make eye contact with any one as that could be seen as a challenge and things can escalate out of control from there.

  3. Most of the time I try to get in a Zen-like state where I let go and realize that other people will drive stupid and there is nothing I can do about it. The only thing you can control is your own attitude. If you are going to be stuck in traffic for an extra half an hour because of an accident you can either sit there and fume the whole time or crank up the radio and sing along.

  4. 12 Gauge behind the seat, works every time

  5. ROAD RAGE  is only another name for SELFISHNESS.

People should learn to control their behaviour and moods and not act like neanderthals or children.

  6. well, I simply grip my steering wheel real tight and one of two things: I take a dreap breath, and say Oooh, make me mad...or I say Ok...ok, I see how it is....ya got me...hehe...good for you. IF that don't work I just sing You suck, you suck, cuz you cannot drive your truck...yeah, I'm wierd.

  7. Honestly, I listen to audiobooks instead of the radio or music cd's.

I've found that when I'm listening to a good book, I don't get as irritated with people.  I also tend to take it a little slower and am no longer speeding like a mad woman trying to get to where I need to be because I want to spend more time in my car to finish listening to the book.

  8. i got an mp3 with all my favorite music and i take my time so that i can hear more. also i take a deep breath when ever i want to run someone off the road. that helps alot. but i do fall of the wagen sometimes. just the other day someguy was cussing me out for no reason and i told him if he wasn't to fight he should pull over. he pulled over but i never said i wanted to fight so i drove on. i out smarted him.

  9. If you're 8 months pregnant you probably shouldn't be driving.

  10. Just assume they are beginners or are having car trouble, and be glad you aren' them!
