  1. the trick is that you have to line up one row at a time.

  2. Turn the top level 1/4 turn.

Lift firmly upward on the corner cube of the top level.

    The cube then comes apart.

You can put it back together in a solved position, or in a position by which it can never be solved.

I used to do the latter to my friend's cubes when they weren't looking, just so they would go nuts trying to solve it.

I could never figure out how to solve one the right way, so I figured out how to take them apart.

  3. I am a Rubik's Cube Junkie!  My fastest time at solving the Rubik's Cube was 1 minute and 28 seconds.  At least, that's when I was timing myself.  Last summer, so who knows.

I must tell you that EVERY Rubik's Cube can be solved in at least 6 turns.  Unfortunately, most people cannot solve it that way, at least, I can't.

I must tell you what I do to solve a Rubik's cube.  First tip:  Focus on a whole little block, not just one side of the little blocks in the cube.  That'll help.

First, pick a face color.  The middle square on each side never moves, so arrange the other colors around the middle square in such a way that when you have (say green) all the greens put together on one side, the edges match the middle squares on the four adjacent sides.  Focus then on doing the next level from the side you just finished, then the bottom.  Do each part until you've fully learned how to do it, that way if you s***w up the next step, you can easily redo it.  Play around with different ways of turning the cube and learn how each move affects the rest of the cube.

It won't be easy solving the cube, it took me about 4 months to figure out how to completely solve it.  Watch people who know how to do it, pick up a few techniques.  Trust me, when you figure it out, it'll be worth all the hard work and frustration.

    Good luck!

  4. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=HsQIoPyfQz...  Dan Brown has an online tutorial for the beginning method that is really good.

  5. Usually, theres a little pamphlet that come with a new rubiks cube, if not look up instructions on google.com

  6. Stop playing with it, put it down, and try a total different way of doing it.

  7. Twist it to the right, left side down until all the colors match each face.
