How do you connect a subwoofer?

You most likely have a powered subwoofer and hopefully using the subwoofer output from the receiver to the input on the subwoofer using a dedicated cable. The humming noise is a ground loop and can be hard to correct. Try plugging all gear into the same circuit. Also get a plug adapter so the subwoofer has no ground (third prong) before plugging it into outlet. Search ground loop anywhere on the internet and you will find info.

u have to connect it to the main port of the main speaker..... sometimes it is with the main speaker :P
