How do you connect the HDMI cable to the ps3. ?

i connect the HDMI cable from the tv to the to the ps3. but when i turn on the tv and play a game, the graphics are the same. so what do i do. all i did was connect the cable, thats it. but then what?

Connect the HDMI cable from your PS3 to an HDMI port on your TV. Then go to the Display settings on the PS3 and choose to make the picture come out via HDMI. Switch your TV to HDMI mode and confirm the settings on the PS3. Do the same for audio.

Display settings,HDMI,then pick the one you want.then the screen should go blank for a bit and it will come back on in the resolution you picked.if you choose the wrong resolution like say you picked 1080p and your tv could't dispaly it would go blank for 30 seconds and come on the same as before.
