Question:

How do you contour blusher and/or bronzer to make your face appear thinner?

I've heard you can use two tones (or more) on your cheeks to make your cheek bones stand out/look like you have cheek bones.

How is this done? What colours should be used? Does it work?

Thanks

  1. Don't use too much is the main thing to remember. I would just go two fingers out from your nose and pull down from the top of your cheek bone...stick to one color so you don't look "over done"

  2. Be warned contouring if you do not do it right will look horrible and not even work.

Make sure you blend EVERYTHING well. If there are harsh lines it will look bad. No one should be able to tell you contoured.

step one : Start with a darker natte neutral blush or bronzer. Sweep the colour diagonally under the cheek bones back up towards the ear. Make sure its not to dark either. to make sure that it isn't to dark make it slightly darker than your blush and apply it darker from there.

step two : Put the blush on in a circular swirl right on the apples of the cheeks. If you don't want it to look to noticable only do a little bit of colour.

Step three : Finally take a highlighting powder which has a shine or shimmer to it, and dust it on the tops of your cheekbones back towards your hairline.

Darkening under your cheek bones will make the part of your face look more 'sunken' defining the cheekbones, and by highlighting ontop of the cheeks will 'push' this out more to make your cheeks more defined. It is all an illusion so you will have to practice to get the contouring right. When you first do it you may not think it works or looks horrible. Be patience and go slowly with a light hand.

It took me alot of time, and horrible results when I first started to contour.

Also the colours that are used should depend on your skin type. usually you would work with your normal blush colour that looks good on your skin. and the contouring bronzer/blush should be a nice brown. The shade depends on your skin tone as well, it'll need to be darker for dark skin and lighter for light skin. the hihglighting colour will just basically be the same for everyone since it is just shimmer.

    hope this helps.

  3. Well, darker colours make your face appear smaller and light colours make your face appear larger. You would put a bronzer on your cheeks to make your cheek bones standout, but you don't want it too dark because it won't look right, so blend well!

It will work if done correctly.

Just put on dark colours wear you want smaller, less seen. And light colours wear you want it to standout more.
