  1. buying a vcr and dvd recorder will cost u more...... do one thing..... go to a shop that converts them ^^

  2. they do it at walgreens now

go to the photo section and ask them

the prices are based on hours of film to convert

  3. Easiest way is to just get a VCR and DVD recorder.

If you already have a VCR, you just need to get a DVD recorder.  To hook it up, just connect the VCR output cables to the DVD recorder's input.  Then the DVD recorder's output to the TV.  Hit play on the VCR and then hit record on the DVD recorder.

  4. Hi Nicola,

You can buy a combination VHS / DVD recorder for around $75 or so.

I bought a combination VHS / DVD recorder. I put my VHS tapes in it, hit one button and it recorded them to DVDs. Slow go because it is in real time but I did one or two a day until they were done

This only works for home made VHS tapes. Most prerecorded tapes have copy protection and will not copy. If you want to copy prerecorded movies for your own backups you can buy a device that bypasses the copy guard for about $25.

I had some store bought movies so I got the device to bypass the copy guard and it worked fine. I got it at Best Buy. It is called a "GO-DVD" made by Simo Co.

I hope that will help you decide the best direction for you.

    Norm
