How do you convert a percentage into hours and minutes?

if something happens 55.6 percent of the time in a span or 10 hours how long in hours and minutes is it taking place? Please show me HOW you would do this????

I would convert it to minutes first:

10hr *(60min/hr) = 6000minutes

then find the percentage in minutes

.556* 6000 = 3336 minutes

then convert to hours again

3336min*(1hr/60min) = 55.6 hours

.6 hours * 60min/hr = 36 minutes

55hr, 36min

0.56 hours × 60 minutes/1 hour = 33.6 minutes

if its algebraic , you are looking for X.

so, X times 0.556 = 600 (minutes)

so, divide 600 by 0.556 and you should get your answer in minutes.

i'm assuming you are doing algebra. if you are converting it from decimal form into hours and minutes for that is entirely something different.

you multiply a portion of something by 100 to get percent, right? If I say some happens 0.5 part of the time, it is 50% of the time, .5 times 100 equals 50%.

By the same token, if something happens 55.6% of the time, DIVIDE by 100 to get the portion of the time it happens, 55.6%/100 means it happens 0.556 part of the time.

10 hours x 60min/hour x 60sec/min = 36000 sec

0.556 x 36000 sec = 20016 sec.
