in a gas distribution plant, the flowrate used for calculating the annual consumption for a customer is based on converting to scm/annum. A customer with an equipment rating of 10.9kg/sq cm gave their flowrate as 1590kg/hr.

  1. You have many different units listed:

    kg/hr, a flow rate

scm/hr, which I never heard of (cm squared possibly?)

    scm/year

kg/sq meter, which is a pressure, not a flow rate.

You usually cannot convert differing units into each other without more information.

For example, a pressure cannot be converted to a flow rate.

  2. this looks as if it is a unit conversion problem

    (1590 kg/1 hr)(1 sq cm/ 10.9 kg)

it seems kilograms (kg) cancel  leaving  sq cm /hr as unit result ans the amount is 1590/10.0 =145.87 sq cm/hr .

Of course multiply this number by the number of hours in a

year to get square centimeters per annum.

Number of hours in a year is 8760 in a 365 day year
