use a video streaming card.  Its pretty simple to use and usually comes with software.

super8 will require projection, and shoot with any video camera (doesn't need to be a fancy digital one). run the AV out to the DVD recorder. If the film has sound, run that from the projector to the DVD recorder in lieu of audio from the camera. mono audio should be connected to the "left" inputs.

slides can be scanned with a film scanner. I use a Canon that connects to the USB of the computer.  Most DVD software can generate a "slide show" style DVD recording from jpeg files. However most DVD players can play jpeg files loaded on a regular CD rom.
