How do you convince your teacher you're better than them?

I'll be in grade 8 this September and I'm so upset because one of my "enemy" teachers is going to be teaching me. She taught me in grade 6 and 7 and now I'm finding out she'll be teaching me french. I'm so upset because she thinks she cooler, richer and better than everyone else. Besides that, she's very racial. She picked a book to read for class that contained the N-word a lot.

Two years ago, she was my teacher and I found out that I was ill. I was put on medication and then I overdosed and then I had an allergic reaction to it. Everyone was like hoping I get better and she just was plain inconsiderate and started being rude to me again. She was so rude to my brother when he went to my school and she got really aggressive with my mom at an interview. I feel defeated and humiliated by this teacher. There is no way out unless I move or something. I have to convince this woman then I'm better than them and I don't deserve to be treated like an animal. I don't mean this in a rude way.

  1. Take all of her assignments with a "no problem, I can do that" attitude, and shove it in her face.  Speak up in class and get involved in debates.  Don't be afraid to disagree with someone else or the teacher herself.  Speak your mind, and ask alot of questions.  Prove to her that you know your stuff.  Get on her nerves a little bit, but not in a childish way.

  2. Honestly I think the best way you can convince this teacher that you are a better person than she is is to ignore her completely.  Sure, you can still do your homework and answer her if she asks you a RELEVANT question, but other than that, ignore her snide remarks and futile attempts to bring you down.  If you let her get to you, she will dig her nails in as far as she can get.  For now, just surround yourself with lots of friends this school year and have fun.  Don't even think about what she is doing because honestly, you shouldn't care.  She is a pathetic teacher who is projecting her self hatred onto others to feel better.  You are a better person than that, so just turn the other cheek.

  3. I had a terrible teacher like that in 4th grade.  What you can do is have your mom complain to the school board.  If the teacher humiliates you enough, you can call it abuse and tell the police (you should do this if all else fails, but don't be afraid to tell authorities because this teacher deserves it).  I suggest you do something to get this teacher out of the education system because she is ruining the world with her ways.  Nag your mom or other adults about talking to the school about her.  You can also begin a petition and get other schoolmates and parents to sign it saying that they want her out of the school...however, I'm not sure about policies on that.

I wrote a letter to this teacher once in 7th grade about how I was offended that she threatened to send me to principal's cuz I didn't know who stole a book.  It was probably 3 pages typed.  She gave me a "sorry" card and didn't bother me again.  You could write a detailed letter to the teacher describing all the bad things she's done to you and other students.  You shouldn't be rude, but you gotta be stern and serious about it otherwise she may not take you seriously.

She is a terrible person that deserves all the punishment she can get, so don't hesitate or feel guilty.

I hope things work out for you!!!! (You are better than her, btw)

  4. First off, it depends on the book because alot of great literature was written in the 1800s. There is always two sides to a story, what did you do to her anyways.

You are too vague, in what ways was she rude and what did you/your brother/your mom due to upset her?

Sounds like you are acting really immature to me. When you said that everyone hoped you felt better but her, it sounded like you just wanted attention. Who knows, maybe she went through worse and watching people babying you upset her?

Now you want to humiliate the teacher? Give me a break. Just ask for different teacher at the office.

  5. grow up. there are lots of books with words like the "n word". jeeze!

No wonder she hates you, your a little brat.

Your not better then her. Shes a teacher. Obviously you did something to make her treat you like that. Teachers arn't mean for no reason.

ok so maybe shes mean....everyone has had mean teachers. You just have to deal with it. I was tormented by some teacher so much and nothing could be done. but you do seem like a bit of a drama queen. some teachers suck. but if your stuck with your your better learn to deal or get prepared for a crappy year.

I also started reading violent/explicet books at the middle school age. Some books had very foul language. Some of my best teachers had me read books in 7th grade that delt with violence and rape. your might just be to immature to read those type of books. some teachers make jokes about that stuff. most people bush it off.

if shes a bad person well i am sorry, but you can't prove to her that your better then her becuase that makes you a bad person as well. shes a teacher, she will make your year S****y if you act out.

just do what is asked of you and dont draw attention to yourself.

    she'll leave you alone.

  6. You remind me of myself when I was your age, life really does get better as you get older and are able to usurp some kind of say so in your life. To answer your question though, talk to your parents or counselor at school, good luck little sister.

  7. Actually, maybe you just need to write her a nice letter before school starts.  Explain, briefly, that you feel she doesn't like you and you don't understand why.  Let her know that you are looking forward to taking French and that you hope you'll have a good student teacher relationship this year.  Otherwise, good luck.

  8. Your teacher thinks far less about you than you do about her, trust me.  Chill.

  9. Good grief! a 13-year-old who thinks he/she is smarter than the teacher!  Now there's something original.

By the way, a book containing the "N-word" probably has a lot to say about race; you may even have learned something from it.

Sounds to me like you need to chill out and stop thinking so highly of yourself.  Sit back and actually try to LEARN something.

  10. By becoming the president of US.

  11. I would have talked to the principal or even the school supervisor by now.  I would have also brought that racial book along.  The woman needs to be kicked out if she doesn't have tenure already.

  12. ok here is what i did to my ELA teacher and she started to ignore me...yay!!!!!!!!!!!!

you file a complaint to the counsolor....you talk to him/her about your situation...eventually i had a confrence with my teacher and the counseler...i think she learned that i'm not taking ****....yay!!!
