  1. I agree, but instead of lamb, use either stewing steak or ox tail for a more traditional stew..a lot of people who make stew, usually add a packet of oxtail soup to the equation, - take about a half pint of the stock and mix it with the soup in a jug and then add it to the stew pot about 10 minutes from the end, it makes all the difference.. enjoy!!

  2. Recipe as follows: (Feeds 3 - 4)

5 large Potatoes peeled and cut into large pieces

    1/2 pound Lamb /Mutton pieces

    2 Carrots sliced

    2 Small Onions sliced finely

    1 tbsp oil

    3 cups stock

Cook onion in oil until soft.  Add lamb / mutton and cook until brown.  Add sliced carrots and potatoes and cook for another 10 minutes stirring vegetables etc occasionally.  Add stock and bring to boil.

Turn down the heat, cover and simmer for approximately 45 -60 minutes depending on the potatoes.  season with salt and pepper

Serve in bowls and enjoy - Delicious
