Question:

How do you cook marinated tofu?

I have two packages of tofu that are already marinated. One is barbecue and the other teriyaki. Do I need to drain the tofu or was that already done? The blocks look smaller and the packages look tight. Also, how do I cook it? For how long? I've heard baked tofu is good, but how long and at what temperature? I've heard tofu doesn't taste its best when its under or over cooked.

  1. u can pan fry it in olive oil..

or make it like a kebab and grill... if u like add some mushroom in the kebab.

howlong? i guess a minute and half on each side at medium fire

  2. ¼ C soy sauce

¼ C rice wine vinegar or white wine

    4 garlic cloves, minced

    1 TBL fresh ginger, shredded

1 tsp crushed red chili pepper, or to taste

    1 TBL olive oil

Step1. Remove tofu from its container and drain. Stand the tofu upright on a plate or in its original container to allow excess water to drain. Empty the container as many times as necessary over an hour and half period. I usually do this at least 3 times.

Step2. Mix marinade ingredients right in the baking dish. Blend with the flat side of a fork.

Step3. Slice the drained tofu into ½” slices, then place in prepared marinade, coating both sides before covering the dish in plastic wrap. Marinade at room temp for 3-5 hours, turning once.

Step4. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F.

Step5. Lightly spray your cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray.

Step6. Place tofu slices on sheet, keeping ½” – 1” spacing.

Step7. Bake for 30 – 35 minutes each side. The tofu should look brown and dry but should not appear shrivelled

Step8. Dice or slice baked tofu and add to stir fry, salads, rice dishes, or wherever you might add chicken. Enjoy!
