  1. sometimes

  2. on a baking pan in the oven

  3. It is usually baked in a loaf pan.  After baking, you slice the servings.  A great thing about meatloaf is that leftover meatloaf makes great sandwiches.

  4. The beast way to cook a meatloaf and make sure it is still healthy is to use very lean ground beef or turkey. Use one of the store bought spice packages and follow the directions on the back of it. Make sure that when you have shaped the meatloaf, place iton a rack inside of a pan so that it doesn't cook in it's  own grease. You can dice some veggies to put into the meat as well, like celery, onion, carrots, garlic.

    Enjoy!

  5. Cook?  You put the pan in the oven at 350 for about 45 minutes.  I don't cover mine.

    If you're looking for recipes.  I don't mix or measure, you can't s***w meatloaf up.

    I use a mix of ground beef and ground sausage, season with what you like--I use salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder, I mix in an egg, some Worcestershire sauce, seasoned breadcrumbs and ketchup, mix well by hand.  Place in a loaf pan--I prefer to shape the meat into a loaf but use a a cake pan as I find it easier to drain off any grease.

    Into the oven, for the last 10 minutes I put some ketchup on top and if we're in the mood I add on some shredded cheese.

    For a sweeter taste, use brown sugar in the mix and BBQ sauce instead of the ketchup

    For a pizza meatloaf, leave out the ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, use a pizza sause instead and add in some mozzarella cheese.

    Classic Meatloaf

    If you usually bake meatloaf in a loaf pan, you'll be surprised to see what a nice crust it gets when it's shaped free-form and cooked on a baking sheet.

    How-to with Allie: Meatloaf

    Prep: 15 minutes

    Total: 1 hour 10 minutes

    Ingredients

    Serves 6

        * 3 slices white sandwich bread

        * 1/3 cup whole milk

        * 1 1/2 pounds ground beef chuck

        * 1/2 pound ground pork

        * 1/2 medium onion, grated

        * 2 garlic cloves, minced

        * 1 large egg

        * 1/2 cup ketchup

        * Coarse salt and ground pepper

    Directions

       1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Place bread in food processor; pulse until fine crumbs form. Transfer to a small bowl; stir in milk. Set aside, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

       2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine beef, pork, onion, garlic, egg, 1/4 cup ketchup, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Add bread-milk mixture, and mix very gently with a fork (do not overmix).

       3. Place meat mixture on prepared baking sheet, and form into a loaf about 9 inches long and 4 to 5 inches wide.

       4. Bake, brushing twice with remaining 1/4 cup ketchup during baking, until an instant-read thermometer registers 160 degrees, 45 to 55 minutes. Let meatloaf rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

  7. This is by far the best tasting and most impressive looking meatloaf I have ever tasted. It's now the only one I make.
