  1. talk to me about it more and we can take one step at a time

  2. I've always found sharing about it with fellow patients has been the key.  Before jumping to conclusions and taking a bunch of pills or getting run around in that (can be) nasty battle, why not look for self-help groups of depressed people?  Consult with a clinical psychotherapist and also checking online with different medical professionals can be a "free" and "less hassle" approach.  Good luck with this challenge. You are not alone.

  3. try to get out the house as much as possible don't isolate yourself

talk to people about your thoughts, feeling, emotions....

    get a therapist

and remember that all of your feelings are temporary and you will get through it!

    good luck

  4. Hi. I've suffered from depression and anxiety for a long time, and the thing that has worked best for me is just taking life one day at a time. When i'm having a good day, i try to get out and do as much as possible, and when i'm having a bad day i just try to take it easy and relax. It's very hard for me to make any kind of plans in advance, because i don't know how i will feel from one day to the next. That's why going day to day works best. That really bothered me a lot at first, but i've just had to get use to it being that way. Medication helps a lot of people, but i choose not to go that way. I went to therapy for a year, and that really didn't help much either. It's just something i've learned to live with. Try not to beat yourself up when you are feeling bad ( i did that a lot at first ). Just try to tell yourself that tomorrow will be better. Remember, mind over matter. Good Luck, feel better soon :-)

  5. medication and therapy...ask your doctor

  6. Whenever i'm feeling down and helpless i go to the gym and work out or watch really funny movies.

  7. Talk to a psychiatrist they will help you find out what medications work for you. And talkt ot your friends too they will help you through it.

  8. I'm taking an antidepressant and going to counseling.

The pills keep the suicidal thoughts away and the counseling is helping me change my life.

Exercise helps because last summer I went on daily 7 to 10 mile bike rides. I was getting along so well that I was allowed to stop the meds.

Once it started getting cooler in the fall I stopped riding and I had to restart the pills.

If anybody tells you to think "happy thoughts" they probably never suffered from depression.

  9. Obviously people will say medication and psychotherapy, eating a very healthy diet, getting plenty of sleep and forcing yourself to be social is the only way, I have it too but I have social phobia so I think if I just had lots of friends it would subside. Go to group therapy and you will find people to help you and you may make new friendships.
