I want to invite everyone from one group to MY group. How do I do that?

  1. Click on Members on the left-hand side of a Group web page to bring up the members list.  Then click on Export on the right-hand side of the page.  Then click Save As in the File menu.  Save the file as a text file on your computer.  Open Microsoft Excel (or another spreadsheet program if you prefer a different one).  Click on the Import speadsheet choice in the File menu.  Choose the text file you just saved.  This should give you the member list in your spreadsheet.  Delete all columns except for the first one.  The first column has the list of Yahoo IDs you can use to invite these people to your new Group.


  2. It is a better idea to get permission from the owner / moderator of the group before doing that. Then, you can send a message about your own group to the one you are a member of.

  3. If the other group is owned by someone else you can get permission from the owner to post a link about your group for others to check out.  You can also post the link to the group on your personal page if you have one.

    The other thing you can do is that if you have specific people in mind to join the group and know their e-mail addresses you can send an invitation to them to check out your group.
