How do you correct a lisp?

Okay so I have a small lisp. Nothing big but it drives me crazy. Ive heard that you can correct it unless its the shape of your mouth. SO if so how do you correct a lisp? How long would this take? THANKS!

  2. Here is a quick tip I learned in a college voice and articulation class....

    If you seem to have a lisp, an easy way to correct it is to Smile while you speak.  When you smile, your mouth is in the perfect position to correctly pronounce the letter "S."

    Give it a try.  Don't forget, practice makes perfect.... When ever you have some free time, pick up a phone book, turn to the "S" names, the read them out loud while being very aware of how you are pronouncing the "S's."

    Good luck!  You can do it!  I used to have a very slight lisp, but after lots of practice, I have perfect diction!

  3. Lisps are cute! But if you really want to get rid of it you should probably ask your dentist. Have you ever had braces? Sometimes changing the positions of your teeth can help with lisps. I think you should keep it, unless it's really severe...
