Well you shouldn't count cards anyway it is illegal. but all you do is play favors.

Card counting is a bit too complex to explain here, basically you want to have a blackjack shoe that has a lot of high cards and aces left in it after several hands have been dealt. It helps you because you can raise your bet when the odds are more favorable to the player.
