What are blogs and what should they cover?

There is a free online course for absolute blogging newbies called "Get Ready to Blog."  It covers terminology, the different genres of blogs, and different platforms.  It is pretty easy to sign up for and complete.  I put in the link below.

Blogs are basically online magazines/journals...usually they have a topic. Like for example perezhilton.com is a celebrity blog. You can pick a topic you are interested in and people who are also interested in that will visit your blog. Many people create blogs when they go traveling so they don't have to send out group emails....plus they are more interesting.
