How do you create a domain for free?

I'm trying to create a website and i don't want to pay for a domain name. Is there anywhere that i can get one and not have to pay for it?

If it's free it'll be on someone else's domain....so it'll be a sub domain

If you get free hosting they usually limit you - one way or another with ads and limits as to what you can do

it can work

if you have an isp they often give you free web hosting of a smaller type as a marketing and sales factor

You can use that space

use dot tk

if it is a really long domain name from the isp there are redirection services  that will direct it from your domain name to your long hosted web address

You can buy just one domain and use as many subdomains as You want. It's better idea to have at least one own domain. You can get for free operators subdomains.
