  1. I have Word 2003, so this is what I'd do. First, select Tools, Options and click on the General tab. Make sure the Measurement units is set to centimeters. Next, set up a custom size using File, Page Setup - click on the Paper tab and then choose custom size from the Paper Size option. Enter the appropriate number for the width (7) and height (11). You will most likely have to go to the Margins tab and adjust those as well because the default size will be way too wide for your narrow booklet. Then, just start typing and let Word make page breaks where necessary or, if you want to force a page break, hold down the Ctrl key and press Enter. Sorry if you already knew that - but I like to cover my bases.

Something else you might want to do, since this is a booklet that will probably be bound on the left edge (yes???) - while in Page Setup, on the Margins tab, where it says Pages-Multiple Pages - choose Mirror Margins. Then, at the top, you can set the gutter space (space you expect to be used for the binding). The margins you set will now be the INSIDE and OUTSIDE (not left and right) which is typically what you want when you're binding a document.
