How do you create and avi file from VOB files? whats the best and easiest program to use? please help.?

i recently downloaded dvd decrypter and split a movie into vob and all its files. i tried using a program called staxRip from a tutorial i received from an online user but as soon as the process would finish it would say that everything crashed and the file would never go through. If anyone knows of an easy and effective way to turn vob files into avi i would greatly appreciate some help. Thank you
