I am wanting to make a blanket for my two yr old and I have never done an afghan blanket. Do you cross stitch just like the cloth or do you skip holes? and how many threads do you use and how many for back stitch? I have a 14 ct blanket.

  1. ok, this questions has confused me, because I cross stitch alot, I do the stamped, cross stitch, but I have never heard of cross stitching a afgan blanket, thats a whole different kind of a sewing.

  2. Using a 14 count fabric for your blanket should call for 2 strands of floss for cross stitch, 1 strand for back stich. You will stitch just like a regular pattern, unless your patterns calls for using more floss and stiching over more holes. Good luck. Cross stich is so beautiful, I know it will be pretty.
