I have a d-pole, but i am only 5 foot, so my coach told me to take 4 - 6 inches off the but end side. He said to use a hack saw, but all that did was make a little indent after 5 minutes. Any suggestions?

Please don't say chainsaw or belt sander, because I do not have either of those.

  1. bring it too a sporting goods store, I mean at home depot if they ruin it then its ruined forever..atleast you can get a professional cut from someone who has done it before at a sporting goods store.

  2. To be completely honest if this is your first time cutting a pole and its the pole you play with I would try bringing it down to Home Depot or Lowes because if you do it wrong you can really mess your stick up. Eventually you can try using a table or a buzz saw on a stick that you don't use anymore so you can get the exact way to do it.

  3. I have used a hack saw. You just need to put a lot of pressure on it. Also, I have used power drills before to help cut my goalie shafts down.

  4. Why would you use a belt sander for 6 inches, who said that lol?

...What about a table saw?  That'd work =P

Honestly I'm really not sure you could bring it down to the home depot or something and go near the section where they have those metal poles and stuff, they cut them, it can take a little lacrosse stick.  probably free.  Sorry =/
