it's not a tree. it's a sudowoodo. use the watering can on it, and you will battle it in a pokemon battle. i'd suggest to catch it, since it's the only in the entire game.

you gotta beat whitney, the gym leader, then go to a house somewhere nearby and get a water bottle from some girls. then use the water bottle on the tree and it will attack you. its level 20 i think and a rock type and i think the only one in the game so try and catch it.

Its actually a pokemon called sudowoodo and its at level 20 and hard to catch, what you should do is:1. get the Golden rod Gym badge,2.Talk to the girl close to the wiggly tree,3.go to the flower shop in golden rod talk to that girl again,4.then talk to the other lady in the flower shop and she will give you the water to sprinkle on the tree,5.Also weaken it with water or grass attacks since its a rock type and stock up on great balls.

You have to get a watering can if im not mistaken from a women in the city it is near then water it and you will fight sudowoodo .
