  1. With some water scissors, or a water knife......both equally as effective.

  2. When you say cut into the wave I'm guessing you mean cutting back or turning?  It would take me awhile to explain everything but you can take a look at the learning to surf chapter (Chapter 4) in my online surfing book at

  3. "cut into a wave"??? you probably mean to do a cut back

  4. As you approach an oncoming wave while paddling, try to have as much speed as possible. About two feet before making contact with the white water, grab both rails (side edges of board) halfway between the nose and midpoint of your board. Push all your upper body weight onto your hands and arms until you feel the nose begin to go under. Point your head down and let your body follow.

Once your body is just below the surface, bend your dominant leg and use that knee to push the tail under the water also.

  5. the girl above me is talking about duck diving hahaha.. what you do is put all your weight toward the front of your foot. goofy would be your right, and reg would be left. im a reg. so i put the weight to my front and spin my hips and then push on my back leg. thats how you do a cut. if you want to do a spray. go up toward the top then do the same exact thing. try to get a longboard skate board. try to do a power slide. will help you alot.

  6. you just turn all your body and keep your balance
