Question:

How do you cut the virgin cable....?

the long white wire that goes into your tv box and modem they have installed mine but left loads of excess wire it looks like a mess a coil of white wire. i phoned them and they wanted to charge £75 to come out and cut them shorter can anyone help i will do it myself if i need to but how is it done.help please

  1. Just unscrew the connector and you will see its easy. More or less the same as ordinary TV coaxial except for the foil. Ive done mine and I'm  thick


  2. I have watched them and they have a special tool. Maybe a firm like Maplins sell them.  

  3. Is that a euphemism? If so, have s*x and that "cuts the cable".

  4. they will probably have used a crimp-on f-connector and they are not reusable so you would have to buy a pack of twist on f-connectors.(B&Q sell them). then just cut the wire to size and using a stanley knife remove around 10mm from the outer insulation, pull back the copper braid and the remove  8 mm from the inner insulation to expose the inner core, then just fit the f-connector by twisting it into the cable.

  5. Personally I think you should leave the virgins and their cables alone. Perv.
