Question:

How do you de-stress?

The past few years I have been feeling really stresses out. I get anxious about things and it is beginning to cause problems. I don't feel like I do as much as I used to, I tend to stay where I am comfortable when I know I used to be more spontaneous. I know I need to de-stress and take time for myself, but I don't feel like I have enough time in the day to do what I have to do already. How do you find more time? Only genuine advice please.

  1. I forget the authors, but two books gave me practical techniques that work. Look up "The Relaxation Response" first, then "How to Meditate." Both of them will work IF YOU TAKE YOUR TIME; the key to the whole thing is environment, too--I like a dim room with no distractions, though many like "New Age" music. If I could find a quiet place during my lunch hour I became a better manager, the methods are a miraculous decompressor after work--a little practice gave me the ability to get good results in 20 minutes.

Ultimately I found I could not only relax but even go so far as to put myself into a trance. But a trance is nothing to be fooled with; never attempt it without someone nearby who can waken you. I remember sitting in an ante room with my wife no more than six feet from my wife and her lawyer, with a 3-hr. delay from the judge. Most people would have freaked, but I remembered how to create feedback and got my breaths down to only 6 per minute (normal is 18; state of anxiety might exceed 35). I was so mellow that SHE freaked, and the judge saw my side of things. The breathing techniques will also nearly double the value of massage therapy and chiropractic. Once I was being prepped for surgery and got my blood pressure down to 90 over 63. The nurses couldn't believe. These two books will help you learn how to take your time and how to relax. I have been free of anxiety and hyperactivity for over 20 years, and everyone admires the way I'm calm under pressure.

  2. i eat goats.

  3. I take an Adventt, take a hot bath, and turn the brian off as best as possible

  4. Take a nice long, hot relaxing bath. Light candles, put on your fav music, nice bubble bath and bath salts and lay back and think of your ultimate holiday place!! I work full time and have kids and run a house and this helps me so much after they have gone to bed so i can wind down. Also try it before bed, might help you to get a good nights sleep as well.

  5. i used to have the very same problem. take a day off. in a week dedicate one day to you. 24hours to yourself can do you a world of good.
