I just recently got a puppy and I already have a dog. He seems to be a little jealous, and almost aggressive. How do I help him cope with the fact that the puppy is not going anywhere?

  1. there just like kids just show them the both love and dont push him away when your with the puppy he will learn to get along with him just show both of them the same love............

  2. Give your old dog more attention. Make sure he knows his place as top dog (below humans of course) is safe.  It is hard not to put the puppy first because they are sooo cute, but you have to.  Do not leave them alone together.  If the puppy gets in the older dogs face and the dog growls to warn the puppy away,  Don't scold the dog but take the puppy away.  The older dog is just setting his boundaries.  Don't allow the older dog to snap at the puppy,  Most dogs will warn with a growl first.

Usually, if the old dog know his place is secure, and the pup respects his boundaries they will get along.

  3. give them equal attention, which u obviously are not doing (understandably as your new dog is still a puppy)..but stop being a selfish sh*t and give them equal attention ok?? good luck

  4. I had the same problem with my german shepherd, he is 15 years old, and I went and bought amstaff puppy, they werent to faund of each other,my german shepherd would growl and sometimes try to snap at him, but now they get along great! Just give both of them some time, they'll get over it soon

  5. Maybe he wasn't socialized well as a puppy. If this is the case, better start late than never. Also, is your dog fixed? If he is neutered, his aggression level will fall.

  6. You may have to keep them separated. Sometimes they just can't get along. If you watch them when they are together they will work it out eventually but when the pup is small you don't want to allow the other dog to hurt it. Good luck! I've been through this and when my pup got bigger they get along pretty well! The pup is now bigger than my other dog but she still is top dog! You have to have a pack order!

  7. oh my. i had the same problem with my dogs. what i did, was put my dog in his cage, then once he was in, i would go get the puppy and hold him there for a minute or so. he would bark his brains out. but i did it everyday and then one day i let him out of the cage, and he does just fine with him now(: i've also heard of making both dogs sleep with a blanket, then the next day, switch the blankets so they know each others scents.

  8. You probly need to give the jealous dog more attention

(sorry if i misspelled words im not very smart jk)
