My boss is like this. It drives me crazy to feel like someone is breathing down my neck! I just need some tips on how to deal with this situation.

  1. I have a supervisor that does the same thing. No matter what I say she still does it. I have tried to ignore that she is there but then she usually starts asking me questions or wanting to know how much longer I will be working on a particular file. Its annoying and I have asked her to step aside that with her there I can not work as efficiently since I become nervous that I will make a mistake. She will walk away for about 10 or 20 minutes but always comes back to check what I am doing. My advice is to go to your boss' superior and file a complaint if he will not stop when you ask him to. First discuss it with him and if that does not help...go to the superior.

  2. I suggest that you try to hint that his time is too valuable to spend constantly watching you.  That there are more important things that he could be doing other than helping you.
