Say if you were going on a class trip with a class of nursery/kindergarden children and realised that one of the child was missing. What would you do in a situation like this?

Thanks.

  1. Re-Trace my steps... ask EVERYONE if they have seen this missing child describing what the child looked like and what he/she was wearing.  Alert the police or security guards where you are visiting.  If there is a Lost and Found station go there to check / report the missing child.

  2. immediatley notify the officials of the site you are at so they can 'lock down' the facility.  notify the police.  notify the parents immediately.  upon resolution you must notify your local licensing agency and whoever the teachers are on the trip need to probably start looking for a new job not working with kids.  serious situation and it could cost you a career.

  3. thank god that parents signed a waiver.

hehe, actually ask the kids first, they might know, as other parents, then ask for help in looking for the child. Keep the ones you have with someone and have them stay put as you look for the other.

  4. Call for the child, tell all adults, notify officials, police, parents and school office. This is as serious as it can get. Our preschool only takes field trips with our little ones if a parent or a family representative goes along. And yes we had a parent lose his own child once. Panic and looking we found the child. Horrible feeling.

  5. immediately contact the police

    then retrace your steps

  6. Retrace your steps.

  7. Oh my gosh - that would be a worse case scenario.  Have an emergency plan in place before even taking a field trip outside of the school so that everything is locked down and everyone knows someone is missing so two adults can stay with the children, while you and the others retrace your steps calling his/her name over and over.  Contact the authorities - do everything and don't be embarrassed - the safety of the child comes first.

  8. Leave without the child and insist the parents lost him/her when he/she got off the bus

  9. I would first ask the other children if they know where Johnny is.  Then I would loudly call out Johnny's  name.  If no response, I would panic............regroup & take a moment to recompose and then I would  notify workers at the facility.  I would have someone I trust stay with the other children while other adults start a search.
