How do you deal with a person who's spoiled?

i was gonna ask how one knows a person is spoiled.

i am not really sure. i could just decide not to deal with them or i will keep a distance. that way the relationship is more formal (it forces people to act differently- the way they are supposed/expected to act).

Look them in the eye, say "No" like you mean it, and refuse to budge. After all the tears, tantrums, blackmail and downright nasty and vindictive insults, give them a great big hug (like you mean it) and let them know you love the person they are, in spite of their selfishness and pre-occupation.

Under no circumstances capitulate! At the end of the day you will earn their respect (albeit grudging). No-one lrespects a doormat.

P.S. How old is this spoilt person? It's just that the older they are the more resistance is required.

I refuse to comunicate with someone like that at all . To me they are a waste of life in a world where life requires give AND take  I have no use for a spoiled brat! They are selfish human beings.

Just Pray for them to see the world is far more then just them .

well, if u have the patience, and understanding u can tell that person gently nd firmly that u r not happy by the way he/she behaves.  well, if u don't have that virtue(patience), then ignore,  dont let her/him spoil ur day, just because he/she is

spoiled.

Basically, the way I deal with any persons faults is to think of all mine, and reflect on how much the Lord has forgiven me and try to be compassionate towards other people, keeping a "there but for the grace of God go I" attitude.

This, however, is sometimes easier said than done and

I  must rely on the Lord totally to enable me to love others.

I just distance my self from them as we have nothing in common.UN less it's family.  then I tell them  point blank,to take their spoiled ways  else. where. .I don't have time for it.

i will not associate, with such people, accept for socially expected and polite contact.

i will not be an enabler to them. i will not lie to them so as to avoid there insecurities and temper tantrums.

How i deal with spoiled people?

I don't have time for spoiled people but all i do is not hanging around with them.

Anyway, DO NOT give into them!!  Let them throw their tantrum and act like a baby, ignore them.  Tell them when they decide to act like an adult to call!  To give in and let them have their way is to allow them to manipulate you and for you to enable their being spoiled.

The reality is "spoiled" is a matter of perspective or perception. In the terms of spoiled I tend to think a spoiled person is rather "ego-centric" and most things sway towards their wants and needs. If your dealing with spoiled person and want to keep them around, I suggest you look into establishing boundaries and being able to stick to them. Spoiled people will only do what you let them do.
