How do you deal with anger?

I'm angry all the time lately and I have to work hard not to lash out at people around me. What can I do to help with my anger?

  2. ALWAYS take a deep breathe, before lashing out.

    I do this all the time... Yes, I still lash out, but, often I find myself chilling out, just a little, before I make a scene....

    Just take control of your emotions.....

  4. I have found a lot of ways to work through anger.  Some of them are:

    -- any kind of exercise

    -- hitting a pillow (or my bed) with a tennis racquet

    -- working with clay (real clay not play doh)

    -- smashing dishes -- my therapist recommended buying cheap dishes at a thrift store and taking them to a safe place outside and throwing them to the ground or against a building to break them!!!  :-)

    -- journaling

    Hope some of these work for you.

  5. sit down by yourself and breathe. and think "life is too short to be angry all the time" - enjoy your life to the fullest otherwise u'll waste too much time being angry at people and not enjoy the finer things in life.

    kind of cheesy? yeah i know, but its the truth and it works for me
