How do you deal with annoying salespeople who keep hounding you?

Can you ever consider what they do harassment?

Tell them that you're just looking, if that doesn't work then tell them you don't have any money.

To deal with annoying salespeople who keep hounding you look them squarely in the eyes and say, "I am not going to buy what you are selling." Don't worry about hurting their feelings. They are only interested in making a sale; your feelings are completely irrelevant to them. If they continue to harass you, continue to be assertive. Most salespeople will back off if they know you are not going to spend any money.

I work in retail and most stores do not operate on commission. It is not always about the sale- if anything they are inexperienced sales associates that are not asking the right questions or approaching the customer in a sincere way. I would simply tell the associate that you are not in need of any help at the moment and if you do need assistance that you will ask. Good to go.

you have to tell them very sharply, "NO, I DONT NEED ANY HELP!" but you have to make your voice very strong and sharp sounding.

I walk out of their establishment.  Unless this is a fine art gallery or somewhere else selling one of a kind items, someone else is selling the exact same thing without the annoyance.

They probably work on commission. No sale, no money.

Tell them that if you need any assistance you will personally let them know and in the meantime they can help another customer.

I'm dealing with the same situation... at this point all I can do is contact their supervisor. I would be very interested in hearing some other tips.
