How do you deal with anxiety before school starts

my classes start in about a week... i m a sophomore in college and i m experience mild to moderate panic attacks, to me this is not normal but when i go to the doctor he says nothing is wrong with me... i am really stressed about tommorow coz i have to go buy textbooks for next semester... this is a thing that came upon me during winter break when i swear i am not making this up that i didn't get any sleep for 4 consecutive days because i was stressing about school already when classes didn't even begin... ive been eating healthy all summer and exercising to the fullest but once the first week of classes hit i have no desire to move around or be jubliant... what can i do this week so i won't be so depressed? i really need help!!

  1. Anxiety and excitement are close cousins. So you have to realize that some of what you are feeling is excitement.  As for the anxiety, give yourself  permission to be anxious. Ask yourself what is bother me why? Is there anything particular I am anxious about or is it just the whole thing?

    Take a few minutes and think about the positive, relax. Take a few days and do something fun and get your mind off it.

    Stay away from stimulants, such as caffeine, sugar, chocolate. Exercise, take a hot bath and live in the present moment.

    Life is good!


  2. Spend some quiet you time - doing the things you enjoy the most. Occupy your mind with positives, not negatives. All that is the matter is that you are about to go into a different environment - that's all. It happens to everyone all the time.

    Focus on being you - look forward to letting your personality shine.

  3. seems to me that you are afraid of school. for this week manually shift your mentality. get a paper then write all the things that worries you. get another paper then write the positive match on what you wrote on the first paper. eg. on the 1st pater: i'm nervous of school 2nd paper: i like to go to school because it's cool. throw the 1st paper away and keep the 2nd. repeat it in your mind or shout it physically the things that you have been writing in the 2nd paper. do it with feelings. and many times as you can everyday.
