How do you deal with depression ?

I have taken a lot of different pills for depression . none seem to work . i have been going to group therphy

  1. id find someone of the gender you like that can really connect with you. i have no idea if it will help, it sounds like it might though. just please dont kill yourself


  2. Maybe a stay in a rehabilitation center if things get desperate but i would rather talk to my friends and family about my sadness instead of strangers. Being surrounded by the people who love you will help you heal. Also suicide is selfish and cowardly. Think of your family and friends.

    good friend who cares and is willing to listen and

    help you get to the root of the problem

  4. You did more than I have. And I'm telling you there is no way to deal with it.  It's like an individual's own personal h**l.  The only way I was able to deal with it, was to learn something new and keep away from whatever depress me or try to keep myself real busy so I don't have time to deal with it.  Surround yourself with positive things that make you happy.  Do something outrageous that you usually don't do like instead of walking go kite flying.

    I struggle with depression too.. and pills havent helped for me.. therapists havent helped.. but you know theres always hope.. Dont give up.. I know its hard believe me.. dont give up...

    Do some breathing exercises.

    Stop THINKING about how,why,when of your problems.

  7. I exercise 5 days a week and that helps so much! I know when one is depressed it feels impossible to "work out" but if you give it a try and get into the mode, you my find it does wonders for your depression. This is coming from someone who has battled beast depression for most if not all of my life. I take meds and have been in therapy, but they never work 100%. Just try it, it wont hurt!

  9. i feel compelled to address this question. the only problem is that i really don't have the answer. too often i get sucked into the blackness and despair of depression and it drains everything out of me . i don't even know how i survive. take this with a whole hand full of salt a good squeeze of lime and a couple shots of tequila, i know it is probably way out in left field to say this but....

    i think depression is a normal condition for many of us just like cold is normal for Eskimos. they fight against it and usually win but sometimes it kills them but the don't ask how do i get over the cold. it is a defining part of who they are. i am bi-polar or manic depressive and that is who i am. you can you be 'cured ' of who you are? if you find this is in error please disregard and let me know what is right tmm.

  10. I would definitely talk with the doctor about your medicines and maybe you could get them changed, tell the doctor that you feel no better. Also if you can, try to get one on one therapy. Hang in there. If you can walk and get some fresh air, eat right and try to be optimistic. Also, there are some support boards on the net that are good. Maybe you can get a test also for any other disorder you might have if no luck with anti-depressants. Good luck and hang in there, stay around positive people.
