I live in the suburbs and I fell into a bad crowd in my senior year. I was an honor student and could have gone to a good university but now Im going to a community college and I cant relate to anyone. I spend a lot of time alone. What are some good ways to pass the time besides hanging out with people?

  2. Hey,

First of all, I wanna tell you that you are not alone on this.

I'm a loner and I get by 24 hours all by myself.

Sometimes people ask me if I'm not lonely cus I don't go out as much and socialize with ppl enough, but hey, I don't think being a loner is a bad thing at all.

To me, loneliness is a good friend. I mean there are infinite things you can enjoy yourself and cultivate your beauty and mind. I enjoy cooking, exercising, shopping, reading and writing, etc, and as time goes by I'm told by many people I've become more attractive becus I'm independent and enjoying my life as it is.

I understand how you feel, but there won't be any quick fix unless you strive to get out of being lonely. To be honest, I find loners more appealing. I wanna sit next to them and start casual talking with them, cus they seem so lonely but at the same time, they seem very brave like that.

hope you'll get well. cheer up.

  3. I felt that way too when I moved away from my family and friends to pursue a higher degree. I was intensely lonely. I went for walks, talked to my family and friends a lot, got involved in community service, and worked really, really hard on my work- which took up most of my time. Try taking a larger course load so you can transfer to a college of your choice, all the while being buried in work so you can no time to be lonely. Exercise also helps because it can make you happy. It will get better, I promise.

  4. man your lucky ur senior year, iv been feeling like that ever since i was a freshmen. I just sit in my room and read books and go on the comp. now skool is starting so its easier to get your mind of things/

  5. I can see how you feel! I studied my undergrad at home and then went to a small city  far from home that is so boring and empty at weekends! I someotimes cried cos I felt isolated and at that time have not had enough friends! I also see how a community college looks! Community colleges are very dull.

Do you work or have a car?? If yes, try to go to adjacent big city to have nice time with friends, and you can also exercise and do a hobby you like. Also try to meet new people via facebook for instance, if you want to.

You can still apply and keep applying for a university.

    Good luck
