  1. It's natural (especially as the moving date gets closer) to start feeling homesick, especially if friends/family are staying in your country and you are moving to another country where you do not know many people

The best thing to do is to try to put a positive mindframe in place.  You are going to Italy which is a truely lovely country.  Wonderful country - both scenery and rural landscapes, or cities and shopping galore (depending on what you like).  The weather is nice, the people there are really sweet, funny, friendly and laid back (in my experience anyway).  The food... well do I need to sayanything - Italian cuisine is gorgeous

In that respect there are people that would kill to be in your shoes!

Start making plans of what you are going to do when you get there.  That way you are organised when there, and also busy now (which will take your mind of some of the worry).  Try to find out social activities - clubs, sports (whatever you like) which you can join when you are there

Read lots about the area you are going, so that you can get out and start exploring when you are there.

If you don't speak Italian - try to get some courses or materials and start learning now. Again it keeps you busy and will help a lot when you are there.

It's tough when you have to go and don't want to, but if there is no other option, then you have two options - (a) be upset and homesick or (b) try and throw yourself into it with a positive attitude

I wish you all the very best, chin up, and I hope you do enjoy it :0)

  2. Enjoy it. New experiences.
