I get really moody a lot especially during my period, and just want to stay home and away from EVERYBODY, I don't even want to talk to people that I live with sometimes! That's not possible so I just try to keep to myself as much as possible, and my boyfriend doesn't understand that...he thinks I'm taking it out on others by not being there for them. Is it selfish of him to think that or selfish of me for feeling this way?

  1. Oh i have my days too!! I don't answer my phone luckily i don't have roomates except my man and son which i can't really hide from them, but I like to "hibernate" especially around that time of the month!!! I don't think your selfish!! for me it's something i can't control and i don't realize i'm being  bitchy until someone says something :) he needs to understand you are a woman!! we get moody! and you don't need to worry about everyone else's feelings all the time!

  2. im 100% with you. its not selfish at all. guys really just dont understand that you need space sometimes so you block everyone out.

  3. I understand how you feel. He should know how women get around their menstrual. He needs to be more sensitive to your needs!

  4. The goal is to calm yourself down and try to solve whatever problem is bothering you.  You can always take a break from the situation. If you're in an argument with someone, go to another part of your house. Your room or the backyard are good choices. Just say, "I want to be alone for a while so I can calm down.  Find something that relaxes you (music, sleeping, drawing, etc.) and do it regularly. If you've got a problem with someone, don't hold it inside, let him/her know about it. Sometimes it's better to acknowledge the problems ourselves than to ignore it and hope it will go away. and no i don't think you're being selfish either, especially when your body and hormone is changing due to your menstruation. just take a deep breath and do what u have to do to gain  a peace of mind.

  5. Taking it out on others is when you do something to them. You are not, you're just "shutting up shop" so to speak.

If you are unable to offer constructive help to others, this is the best approach to take, as you will only cause problems if you try to help. So don't feel bad about it.
