Sibling rivalry

by C.S. Scotkin

Gracie, for some unknown reason

has decided it’s the season

not to deck the hall with tissue,

but to bother George.

This blasted little tiger cat

Has turned into a 5 pound rat

Out to terrorize her brother

George is in my lap.

Georgie tries to stare down Gracie,

Thinks my lap’s a place of safety.

Thinks that Gracie won’t jump up,

nip him on the ear.

George, my mellow, laid back kitty,

This is such a tragic pity,

Remember this, you’re twice her size

Just go nip her back!

  1. Anyone that owns cats has not my sympathy.  We had a farm full of those critters.  I now have a dog.  He does like to chase cats, though!

  2. LOL Your cats sound like so much fun. How old are they and what kind of cats are they?

My friend had 2 cats, the oldest was a cranky old siamese cat, and when she bought home a six week old kitten, it was war in her home!

This poem reminds me of those 2 cats. Habeeb was the siamese, it means my love,

and Mujahid was the kittens name, means warrior! lol They were both male.

  3. Now break it up you 2.

Oh dear, has Gracie got a touch of PMS (Pussycat Manic Syndrome) ?

Stand your lap George. She has to learn to share Mummy!

Good luck Cynthia. First Aid kit ready?

  4. LOVE LOVE LOVE this poem....it says more to me, than the relationship between George and Gracie...

  5. I don't have to. Only child in the family.
