I'm wondering how you all feel after you embarrass yourself to the point that you want to avoid a specific person or place. Am I alone? How do you get over when you embarrass your own self?

  1. even i have been through situations like this many times all i do is to laugh at it ppl forget earlier then us.... i think u dont have to worry about it

  2. I do it often, Just for sheets and giggles. I usually do my best to avoid the person who witnessed it but if I can't then I just ask them to bear with me they only let me out of the facility a few days ago and my meds haven't been mailed to me yet.

  3. "Oh little stupid one, you really outdid your glorious self this time" - Brain.

"Yes, yes, I did; at least I can go about doing that" - Brain part 2.

Talking to oneself, and then distance, and ignore for a short amount of time to forget said stupidity, which is what I'm going to do. No way did I write out an internal dialogue on yahoo questions. Nope. Oh yes, add on mild denial :).

  4. I've felt this way before and still do.  I learned through out the years to just laugh it off because something embarrassing happens to everyone at one point or another.  We're all in it together!

  5. You suck it up, acknowledge your mistake, and move on.

  6. I feel like a dork, and I immediately admit it. I just come right out and say, "Yeah, I'm a dork."  By handling the situation immediately, I alleviate the feeling or need to have to avoid a specific person or place. Life is too short to take yourself so seriously.

It happens to us all. You are not alone. We just handle it in our own ways.

I feel best when I admit my stupidity immediately. I'm humorous yet honest about it. It's hard to be embarrassed when you admit and acknowledge your own stupidity as soon as you recognize it.

Where or what is the stupidity in being just as human as everyone else?

    Thanks for asking -

  7. You shouldn't have to embarrass youself in order to feel good! Just try not to put yourself down if you do it gives people the power to also make fun of you because you keep puting youself down just try to be more confident!

  8. Meh.

  9. I can't tell you how many times i've done that. I usually try to change the subject, or to laugh it off. But it always seems to haunt me for a while, but I'm sure the other person forgets all about it.
